  • [[:en-ii:{{{EnglishTextTerm}}}|{{{EnglishTextTerm}}}]] (if not already translated to French or Spanish) 135-10 Central rates! Because of the firt world war, rates were calculated in perspective, following a cohort to avoid huge variation of population due to variation of births between 1914-1918 and were not centered. But in other countries not affected by the war, it is better to compute central rates. Also at very old ages, central rates are bounded and perspective rates tend to 2 (quotients tend to 1). This term has to be incorporated in the French dictionary.
Central rates 10 are obtained by dividing the number of events during a year, or some other period (often five years) either by the average population 6 or mid-year population 6 or by the number of person-years 7 of exposure to the event in question during that year or period;--Nicolas Brouard 11:45, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
